Zapreshchennaya realnost interceptor

Once upon a time the idea of a Russian science fiction action film would have seemed utterly unbelievable. Another is shot in real time from a news camera - fleeting glimpses of mangled flesh and heavy objects crashing to the ground occurring around the viewer as the camera desperately tries to keep up. The special effects are also flawless. But sadly, however well the film is put together, however technically proficient it is - the immensely confusing plot is always going to count against it and it is for this reason that ultimately I cannot recommend this as a blind purchase. The director proves himself adept with both techniques and this helps keep the viewer on their toes, never quite sure what they are going to see next. Top Trailer Top. However, as Berkmanbetov has already shown us, however tired the genre it is possible to kick start it into life - so it was with interest that I inserted the disc into my machine. I have already mentioned the opening scene, and there are many other set pieces that really stand out.

Now that Berkmanbetov has been swallowed up by the Hollywood machine, it is clear that his influence is still strong back in his homeland. Sadly The Interceptor matches the visual style but just confuses the audience narratively.

Unfortunately, it's an incoherent mess, narratively speaking.

The temple occasionally looks like an airfix model, but only occasionally whilst the bullet time effects, the Inner Circle's lion and the cityscapes look fantastic.

    Interceptor DVD Review

Zapreshchennaya Realnost The Interceptor is a fascinating movie, presenting lots of surreal imagery and a strange battle between good and evil. There's.
An explosive beginning shows us that this man is rather a unique individual in terms of his physical attributes.

He also shows talent in more normal scenes, introducing new characters with audacious camera angles and sweeping movements. A gritty, crushed image presents itself, and you are immediately thrust into the action - an airliner rushing towards the camera which zooms in through the window to show that there are no pilots. The Rundown 6. Zapreshchennaya realnost Movie You know you're in trouble when the introductory written passages don't make a lot of sense. When action thrillers in the West are a staple diet of the average cinema goer, something has to be truly special to stand out, and this film is not going to achieve that.

And this is a great shame, because the actual structure of the film is excellent and the direction is superb.

Matvey (Igor Petrenko) is the 'interceptor' of the title, some sort of hyper-athletic.
Review Counter-intelligence agent Matvey jumps out of a crashing aeroplane that is rigged with explosives, but doesn't die. The Inner Circle, a force for good, contacts Matvey and helps him to become an unstoppable warrior to battle against Kurylo.

Unfortunately, prior to this scene the audience is shown four screens of words explaining the convoluted background to the film we are about to witness, a confusing ream of text that explains the more supernatural, extra-terrestrial elements of the story.

Russian cinema is rather in the ascendency at the moment, thanks to the dual assault of Nightwatch and Daywatch. From there we are introduced to our hero, who is on his own in the hold of said vehicle.

It's beautifully shot whether it's views of the city, the ephemeral temple guarded by the Inner Circle or the tunnels where Matyev trains or infiltrates Kurylo's headquarters.
